Tallahassee, Fla.— Kevin Cate Communications today released an infographic comparing the social media influence of various state’s Capitol Press Corps. Florida tops all other large states in overall Klout, a measurement of social influence across various social media platforms, mainly Facebook and Twitter.

A little more than a year and a half ago Justin Sayfie politely asked me to be more thoughtful with the use of the #Sayfie twitter hashtag.
I’ve obliged. In fact, these days I don’t hashtag #sayfie at all.
No one can accuse me of being anti-Sayfie. Two summers ago I was one of the hosts of the Tallahassee “Sayfie Meetup.” And in 2 [...] -
Florida is a huge state. We have 10 media markets.
The only people that seem to miss that every election cycle are media consultants. Sure, media buyers purchase ads in key DMAs (designated market area), but aside from the one or two Spanish ads per cycle, the ads all look exactly the same.
This has never made sense to me.
I suppose it’ [...] -
It’s part of the job, but one of the worst. Compiled with help from GOP political consultant Rick Wilson, these 10 rules should be shared with every politico, especially those that will be offended by it.
10 RULES FOR POLITICAL CONFERENCE CALLS:

Quick reaction to the fact that 42% of voters still support the “Stand Your Ground” law that George Zimmerman will use as a defense for shooting Trayvon Martin (32% oppose). The behind the scenes snapshot, courtesy of Eric, shows some of our set up.

It’s been a long time since my beloved gmail allowed a piece of spam to hit my inbox. I rarely click on the spam folder, but when I do, it’s like going back in time. From what I can tell, spam seems pretty much unchanged from when AOL was in its heyday- inappropriate websites, fake pharmaceuticals, gambling websites, etc.
However, g [...] -
Twitter legal team, cover your ears.
I have an idea that I think would help make Twitter more valuable for brands and political candidates— and provide a solid source of revenue for the company.
Social media is all the rage, and every company, non-profit, and political candidate under the sun is seeking one thing— more followers. More [...]
